It's kind of amazing how fashion and interior design are always on the same wavelength each season. I don't know if it's a proper coincidence or it's intentional, but we obviously love the marriage between the two as we are huge fans of both. Below we've juxtaposed how both worlds collide in some of our favorite fashion-meets-interior design moments.
Bold COLOR is often a common thread found within the world of fashion and interior design. The use of bright hues on their own or in an understated avenue like accessorizing are ways to kick things ups a notch. We love the big, the bold and the beautiful when it comes to the use of color. Amanda Nisbet is the queen of bold especially in the use of her canary yellow draperies in one of her projects above that we are crushing on.
Often overlooked, TEXTURE is so powerful and so important in design. You have probably seen the resurgence of the Moroccan wedding rugs as well as woven wall tapestries popular in the 60s and 70s that are making a huge comeback. We love these trends. Dying for this Nurya pillow from Lulu and Georgia as it can be a fun addition to a basic sofa or chair -- just like the amazing tweed hat above can add that extra polish to finish off a perfectly simple outfit.
It's SO simple, but BLACK and WHITE are always in style -- both in your home and in your closet. Classic, clean, and effortless, black and white can make a huge impact on its own or paired with other tones. Some of the most impactful interior design I've seen have been black and white rooms. And we all know how amazing a simple little black dress can be. One of ABD's fav design trends by far.
Which of these fashion to design trends do you vibe with the most?
